About me

Hi! I'm Melissa Aquije Caman, a 21-year-old from Peru, passionate about the digital world, video games, and the creative processes behind their development. From a young age, I’ve inspired others through my drawings and animations on social media, opening my perspective to a world where I can truly grow doing what I love.

I’m currently studying Video Game Design at Toulouse Lautrec and have had the opportunity to contribute to several projects that have been released on various platforms—some of which I’ll share with you below. I’ve also completed all levels of English at Pontificia Idiomas Católica, achieving advanced proficiency, and in 2020, I pursued a Graphic Design course at Zegel IPAE.
In addition to my academic and artistic pursuits, I had the honor of serving as a mentor during the "Avatar-FAD Game-jam" organized by the Avatar PUCP group in 2022. This enriching experience allowed me to guide and inspire participants in the creation of board games. My goal is to combine art and technology to create immersive experiences that connect with people around the world.

Bringing Music to Life Through Art

I had the incredible opportunity to be the lead artist behind the visuals for Aldoxito's first three music videos: "Cómo Duele", "No Queda Más", and "Dependiente". Aldoxito, an influencer with over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 3 million followers on TikTok, trusted me to design the album covers and create the animated visuals for these releases.
Starting with his debut song, where each video narrated a unique and compelling story, I continued collaborating with him on the following two tracks. The songs were also released on Spotify, collectively surpassing over 1 million streams, marking a significant milestone for both his music and my artistic contributions★   ★   ★   ★   ★   ★   ★   ★   ★

XP-pen

I had the opportunity to collaborate with XP-Pen for their anniversary celebration, where they gifted me the Artist 10 2nd graphic tablet. In exchange, I created promotional content on my Instagram account, where I have over 30k followers, highlighting their special anniversary deals—especially the discounts on the very tablet I received.
Through my posts, I showcased the tablet's features and performance, encouraging my audience to take advantage of the limited-time offers while celebrating XP-Pen's milestone.

Proyects

Cuyuyuy! is a 2D stealth and puzzle video game created by my team, DragonBunny, as a student project. In this game, players control Agent Lampu, a spy guinea pig on a mission to rescue his companions from a laboratory. Combining stealth mechanics and puzzles, players must evade guards, solve challenges, and save the day in a fun and quirky adventure.
The game was well-received and published on Itch.io, and it also qualified for the IGDA Perú Showcase, where we presented it alongside other Peruvian projects, including those from recognized studios like Bamtang Games. Presenting Cuyuyuy! at the event with one of my teammates was an incredible experience that allowed me to connect with industry professionals and gain valuable insights.

"Cuidemos Nuestro Mar" is an educational video game, available on the Play Store, where I had the honor of contributing as an artist. Created in collaboration with the Miguel Grau Foundation and the Peruvian Navy, the game promotes marine conservation and environmental awareness.
The project was officially launched aboard a naval ship at the Callao Naval Base, with the presence of distinguished representatives. Contributors, including myself, were recognized with a Diploma of Honor for our efforts. The game was also promoted in schools across Peru, featuring a special competition where the highest-scoring student won an exclusive tour of the naval base. This project was an incredibly rewarding experience, highlighting the potential of art and gaming to foster education and inspire positive change nationwide

As part of the Game Challenge TLS, my team and I created a mini-game called "Manapunch", which earned us first place in the competition. This 48-hour game jam focused on the One Health concept, highlighting the connection between human, animal, and environmental health.
Our mini-game, "Manapunch", revolved around the habitat of manatees and stood out for its creativity and functionality. It was officially integrated into the larger project, "Guardianes del Amazonas", now available on the Play Store. Additionally, "Manapunch" was published as a standalone game on Itch.io, giving it its own spotlight and wider reach. This experience was both challenging and rewarding, allowing us to contribute to an educational and conservation-focused initiative while showcasing our skills in game design and development.

"Flappy Cappy" is a fun and addictive mobile game now available on the Play Store, where I was responsible for all the artistic aspects.
Developed alongside my teammate Alonso Beramendi, this personal project challenges players to guide a capybara through a chaotic rain of watermelon cannons, collecting oranges to boost their score. These oranges also unlock costumes in the Costume Emporium, from astronaut suits to elemental outfits, adding a unique touch to each adventure. With intuitive controls, vibrant visuals, and a surprise-filled loot system, Flappy Cappy offers endless entertainment for casual gamers and competitive players alike
